Shelby GT500CR Mustang by Classic Recreations

December 16, 2009 by Justin

Classic Recreations has just released the specs of their Shelby GT500CR Mustang. The muscle car is a continuation of the 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, better known as Eleanor from the movie Gone in 60 Seconds. The news was announced opening day at the 2009 SEMA show. Classic Recreations will be creating three different models, all three will feature a hand built 427 cubic inch 7.0L engine. Every GT500 wil also have an official Shelby serial number, badges and will be inducted in the official Shelby Worldwide Registry. The “Intro” model is powered by a 545hp fuel injected 427. The “Performance” model features all the parts of the “Intro” and has Carroll Shelby Scat Rally series 1000 seats, larger 17×9.5 rear wheels and a Total Control front and rear coilover suspension system for modern sports car handling. The “Venom” model boosts the horsepower up to 780hp and uses a F1-R Intercooled ProCharger supercharged engine. The interior is upgraded with a 200mph speedometer and racing-style bucket seats. The “Venom” also boasts suspension and chassis upgrades as well as 17×11″ rear wheels and wider ultra high performance Goodyear tires. It’s great to see Classic Recreations bringing back a legend.
