Turn your Mustang into a Ford GT or a Mustang Cobra with these custom emblems. You can find all types of emblems by using the search box up above. These logos not only look cool but will also let your competitors know you mean business. My favorite one is the Cobra emblem, doesn’t it look sweet? You can place this emblem anywhere you want your Ford Mustang.

US Airforce X-1 Ford Mustang

The United States Air Force and Galpin Auto Sports have teamed up to make one cool custom Mustang. Like a fighter jet, this Ford Mustang features speed and style in one mean machine. What makes this muscle car truly unique is the custom cockpit inside the Mustang, when you step in the car it looks just like a fighter jet. The flight stick acts as a shifter and the steering wheel recesses into the dash. Other features include vertical lambo doors, touch screen monitor, and a sensor pack that includes night and thermal vision. When I said cool custom Mustang, I meant it! This thing is truly unbelievable! And how does 500 horsepower sound to you, Galpin Auto Sports has tuned this 4.6L to deliver and that it does.

1967 Ford Mustang in Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift

It was great to see a little muscle in the movie Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. The sad thing was you had to watch the whole movie to see the 1967 Ford Mustang at the end. Well, I guess you could fast forward the whole movie and then see it, but it’s actually not a bad movie to watch. The acting and stunt scenes were pretty good.

This 1967 Mustang was no ordinary Mustang either, it was sporting a twin turbo 2.6 liter DOHC Skyline engine. Kind of the holy gril of imports! It’s definitely an unheard of thing to put an import engine in a muscle car, especially a classic Mustang. Well hey, at least the engine had some balls! The engine ended up laying down 340 horsepower to the rear wheels, enough for the Mustang to run 13.32 in the quarter mile.

Cash For Clunkers

This all sounded good until I read that the Mustang didn’t qualify. There are only 20 different Ford models that qualify as replacement vehicles in the cash for clunkers plan. This gives you the chance of getting $4,500 in rebates, pretty cool huh!

2010 Roush Mustang 427R

The great thing about Roush Performance is all of their parts are 100% made in America. These are great elements to hear since were’re in a time of crisis. In this photo is a cool shot of an awesome 2010 Roush Mustang 427R. I’ve never seen a new one in person yet, maybe I will next summer out on Woodward. It sure does look sharp!

1995 Saleen Mustang 351sr

By far one of my favorite Mustangs every made. The 1995 Saleen Mustang 351sr is a real screamer, pumping out 480 horsepower out of a 5.8 liter V8. Steve Saleen wasn’t fulling around when he created this custom Ford Musang. 480hp is a big number even for 2009, back in the 90s this was unheard of for a manufactured Ford Mustang. These numbers were so impressive, it was 80 more horsepower than the Dodge Viper and 75 more horespower than the Corvette ZR1.

So what kind of modifications are on this Ford Mustang? This stang features a Vortech supercharger running around 8psi. Other mods include aluminum cylinder heads, a hydraulic roller camshaft, modified upper and lower intake manifold (sectioned and enlarged for improved high-rpm power), a larger-diameter throttle body and mass airflow sensor, higher-flow fuel injectors, ceramic-coated headers, and a low-restriction 2.5-inch-diameter Borla stainless exhaust system. The car is truly a beast!

The only drawback on this muscle car was its limitation, there were only a few Saleen Mustang 351sr ever made. And getting your hands on one was pretty impossible. Maybe now you’ll be able to pick one up off of Ebay or something. Hell, I would be grateful to see one of these cars in person.

Ford Mustang Valve Stems

If you’re limited on funds and looking to spruce up your ride a bit. Pick up a set of custom valve stems for your Mustang. Little modifications like this can add a unique look to the exterior of your Mustang. Yeah they are very small and hard to see, but you’d be surprised how many people notice little things such as custom valve stems. You can pick up a set by typing “mustang valve stems” in the search box up above.

Better look at the 2010 Steeda Mustang

I was looking around the web and came across a better picture of the 2010 Steeda Mustang. I don’t see much change on the oustide other then a custom grille, black painted hood, and a custom set of rims. It seems like Steeda is trying to keep their custom Mustang pretty simple, I actually like that. When you start adding too many mods on the outside your car can start looking gaudy. I think they did a nice job on the exterior, I’m hoping there are some big mods under the hood. Maybe a supercharger or turbocharger would be nice.

Chrome Wheels on your Mustang

October 23, 2009 by Justin

A lot of Mustang enthusiasts are big fans of chrome wheels. After owning a few sets of chrome wheels myself, I don’t suggest buying them. Chrome is a very soft metal and can easily be chipped or scraped. Not to mention chrome pits after a year and can also flake away. It is possible to get a decent chrome rim, but most the aftermarket rims you see have cheap chrome jobs. Chroming is an art and has to be performed correctly or it will not hold up over time.

If you really want a set of chrome rims, I suggest buying a set of high polished rims, then sending them off to get chrome correctly. Make sure you research the chrome company before they chrome your rims.

Your other option is picking up a set of high polished forged aluminum rims that look just like chrome. Bare aluminum rims are stronger then chrome and will not pit like chrome. Plus if you ever get any kind of curb rash, you can sand the spot down with high grit sand paper then buff it back to a shiny finish.

Just my ten cents on chrome rims!

Supercharger or Turbocharger for your Mustang?

October 22, 2009 by Justin

Forced induction 101, both superchargers and turbochargers are awesome mods for your Mustang. The main problem is the cost, many techs are going to tell you to go down the turbocharging road. And that’s true and the smart thing to do, because it’s cheaper and more efficient thing to do. See a turbo runs off your exhaust and your supercharger runs off a belt connected directly to your engine. Superchargers on the flip side provide instant power to your rear wheels, a turbo will take some time to spool up. But that’s really not all that great, because the most important thing is hooking. A turbo will allow your Mustang to hook up and provide power midway down the track, while a supercharger may leave you spinning at the starting line. I still don’t understand why many car companies are still using superchargers, it’s evident that the turbo is a better choice for any car.
