Carroll Shelby Engine Company
November 23, 2009 by Justin
Carroll Shelby is now offering performance rebuilds on small block Windsor, 351 C and big block FE engines. I think it’s a great idea that they are expanding their services. When a Mustang fan decides to receive an engine rebuild, their engine will get a “Rebuilt by Carroll Shelby Engine Company” tag mounted in the engine bay. Pretty cool huh?
2010 Cobra Jet Mustang
November 23, 2009 by Justin
So what do you guys think of the new 2010 Cobra Jet Mustang? I have to say it sure looks sweet, the silver snake graphic on the side looks very appealing. The 2010 Cobra Jet picks up where the 2008 Cobra Jet left off, providing a turnkey race car for NHRA and Super Stock racing. All of these 2010 Cobra Jet Mustangs come with a supercharged 5.4 liter V8. Other modifications include a drag race-specific shocks and springs, manual steering and brakes, 8,50 certified rollcage and an Aeromotive return-style fuel system with trunk mounted fuel cell. It’s the perfect Mustang for drag racing!
Hallett CarFX Project Mustangs Wrecked
November 23, 2009 by Justin
If you’re a subscriber to 5.0 Mustang magazine, you’re going to come across an article on a wrecked Hallett CarFX Mustang. The Mustang is one of three unique Hallett CarFX project Mustangs ever made. It’s truly a sad site, but it’s kind of cool because a photographer captured the wreck in a sequence of photos. You can see the photos down below, it’s pretty unique just like the Mustang itself. The Mustang ends up laying on it’s back when it settled, the amazing thing is the driver came out without a scratch. If you notice, the bolt-in roll-cage was driven right through the floor board. That tells you something about bolt-in roll cages, not safe at all!

First Ford Mustang Off Assembly Line
November 23, 2009 by Justin
The first Ford Mustang has been spotted on Ebay for 5.5 million dollars. This 1964 Mustang is the 212th off the assembly line, all others before it were pre-production models hand built at the prototype warehouse in Allen Park, Michigan. I’m not sure if it deserves that large of a price but I have to say it’s one sweet classic Mustang. If you’re interested in making a bid, you can check out the Ford Mustang here.
2010 Saleen Mustang S281 Pictures
November 23, 2009 by Justin
Saleen Performance has unveiled more photos of the 2010 Saleen Mustang S281. Just like I said in a previous post, the car is absolutely amazing. I love the cherry red paint, it really brings out the looks of the bulky hood scoop. Other features I like are the high polished dual exhaust tips in back, I’ve never seen a Mustang that has those types of exhaust tips, they look awesome. Under the hood is a 4.6 liter V8 engine equipped with a Saleen Series VI.5 twin-screw supercharger and dual-stage intercooler. That’s 485 horsepower sent to the rear wheels, not bad for a Saleen Mustang. I have to say even though Steve Saleen has left the company, his spirit still lives in the company. I’ve added more pictures to the bottom of the post to show you how sweet the muscle car looks, I can’t wait to see it on the street.
Hurst Performance Mustang
November 23, 2009 by Justin
I’m usually not big on the cars Hurst pumps out, but I have to say this is one sweet cutom Mustang. They did a great job with the graphics and wheels, the stang looks just right. The car might look a little smooth and sleeks from the outside, but under the hood the car is pure muscle. The Hurst Mustang sports a Roush supercharger that pumps out an extra 100 horsepower. Other custom mods on the Ford Mustang include Willwood brakes, Eibach coil-over suspension, sway bars and Magnaflow exhaust. Hurst Performance is only building 50 of these unique Mustangs.

Shelby Turbo Package for 2005-09 Mustangs
November 21, 2009 by Justin
With all the publicity SEMA got last week, a lot of other Mustang news didn’t get much publicity. One topic that flew under the radar was the Shelby turbo package for the 2005-09 Mustang. The turbo being used was developed by Californias own Turbonetics. Turbonetics have been in business since 1978 and have been a leading source for turbocharger and forced induction components around the world. This turbo can help crank your Mustang up to 550 horsepower. Now that’s broad statement for any Mustang enthusiast!

Carbon Fiber RTR-C Mustang at SEMA
November 21, 2009 by Justin
Bling Bling! Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s all carbon fiber Mustang made it to the SEMA show. This Mustang definitely stood out from the crowd, people were amazed by it’s sleekness and chilling carbon fiber look. Vaughn Gittin Jr. redefines the words bling bling! It’s said the carbon fiber body panels shed off 400-500 pounds the total weight of the muscle car. Sad thing is that the weight was added back on when addittional supercharger, big brake kit and headers were slapped on. The total weight of the car comes in at 3,350, that’s tremenously light for a new 2010 Ford Mustang. Other mods added to the car are carbon fiber Sparco seats, HRE wheels, and rear seats removed for a leather covered panel. It is truly one unique Mustang.

Classic Recreations Shelby GT500CR
November 21, 2009 by Justin
This is the best Mustang News I’ve heard in a long time, Carroll Shelby is granting a license to Classic Recreations to build Shelby GT500CRs. It’s great thing, they’re helping the legendary name live on. Each Shelby GT500CR will have official serial numbers and badges to go along with the inclusion in the official Shelby Worldwide Registry. Other great news is the Shelby GT500CR will be packing 545 horsepower underneath the hood. What’s the motor you might ask? It’s a 427 cubic-inch crate motor, mated with a Tremec transmission for bullet proofing. A selection of 5 different colors will be available. Other mods include include Baer brakes, JBA ceramic coated headers, Be Cool aluminum radiator, 150-hp NOS nitrous system, Carroll Shelby signature seats, Simpson 5-point harness and Shelby 427 wheels. After seeing the concept picture, I have to say this is going to be one bad ass Mustang muscle car, I want one. If you plan on purchasing Shelby GT500CR, you better have deep pockets because it’s going to cost you $119k. That’s definitely too steep for me, but if you have the money you might want one of these legendary muscle cars.
