2010 Ford Mustang in Need for Speed SHIFT Video Game

November 24, 2009 by Justin

So what can you expect from Need for Speed Shift? Authentic racing and realism, EA sports have put everything they could into the game. It’s so good Team Xbox has given it a 9 out of 10 rating on their website. Need for speed captures the authentic love for racing, built upon a foundation of real physics and deeply researched car statistics. For instance when you crash into a wall, your cars front end will be dented along with your driver having blurred vision. Simple features like that which have been missing in other racing video games.

I gave the demo a try not too long ago, I really liked the game. The handling was great and the graphics were top notch. I still don’t think these game makers have the physic down pact yet, but they sure are close. I wish they would work on the brakes, when you’re going 100mph and you hit the brakes, the car doesn’t brake hard enough, so it’s harder to make that turn. Just like the rest of the games you have to brake at a certain point or you will end up into the wall.

I found some screen shots on what the 2010 Ford Mustang looks in the game, I have to say it looks stunning. These pictures I captured aren’t in HD, but they give you a feel how the muscle car looks in the game. In an official trailer of the game, four different games got to try out the 2010 Ford Mustang in the game, then afterwards they got to try it out the Mustang in real life. It’s a really cool trailer, for more info watch the youtube video down below.

It’s definitely a must get if you have a Xbox 360 or PS3 console, you’ll love taking your suped up Mustang around the track at high speeds in Need for Speed SHIFT. Something a lot of us can’t do in real life!

Classic Mustang at African Rally Race

November 24, 2009 by Justin

What a rare site to see in East Africa’s rally race last Sunday, a 1968 Mustang flying across the wilds of Kenya and Tanzania. The driver Ian Duncan is a former Safari Rally winner and multiple Kenya National Rally champion. The classic 1968 Mustang he used in this years African race is powered by a 400 horsepower 302 V8, backed up by a 4 speed manual transmission. Other mods include a beefed up suspension and skid plates. This race is termed the “World Greatest Classic Car Rally,” it sounds pretty exciting. Even Duncan remarked on how much he loved this years race.

It truly is a unique race because you’ll see all types of wild animals on the sideline, the drivers have to actually watch out for monster elephants crossing the road. Could you imagine slamming your Mustang into one of those beasts, your Ford Mustang would be totaled. The other cars that made it to this rally were a Datsun 260 Z, Peugeot 504 Coupe, Porsche 911, and a Porsche 911. Porsche 911, I didn’t know Porsche’s ever raced in rallys, that’s pretty crazy. Truthfully I guess any car could be setup for rallying. With the compact size of a Porsche sports car, I guess it would make a dynamite rally car. I posted some pictures down below from the African Rally Race, I like the one where the mud and dirt is flying in the air, that looks spectacular.

New SMS 296 Supercharger

November 24, 2009 by Justin

Just the other day at the SEMA show Steve Saleen got to show off his new SMS 296 supercharger. Just from a glance at the engine bay I have to say it’s a very clean setup. Don’t be fooled by the simplicity though, this is no normal supercharger. The 296 supercharger is very high tech in regards to its intake and intercooling, in fact there are patents pending on the new dual intake design. The supercharger will boost your horsepower by 45%, it comes standard on the 475 to 650 horsepower 2010 SMS 460 Mustang. I’m sure Steve Saleen wowed Mustang fans when the walked by the SMS Mustang GT display, I was sure impressed. This could make a lovely Christmas present for any gear head, but you better have deep pockets because knowing Steve Saleen, this supercharger isn’t going to be cheap.

2010 Roush 427R Mustang on The Wannabes Show

November 24, 2009 by Justin

I’m not much of a sitcom guy, I used to watch Home Improvement with muscle car legend Tim Allen and also a little bit of Seinfield, but other than that, I just watch movies. Good news is around the corner for a TV show called “The Wannabes,” I’m not quite familiar with the show. But, I’m kind of interested in it now because in the first episode a 2010 Roush 427R Mustang will be making a starring role. Another cool thing is the whole TV series will be filmed in my home state Michigan, this is the first TV series to be completely filmed in the state of Michigan. I wonder where in Michigan they will be filming? Also if you look closely in the background you’ll see more Ford Mustangs!

2009 Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach Pictures

November 24, 2009 by Justin

Got a ton of pictures from Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Must of been a good turnout, because there’s a ton of mustang pictures floating around the web. I decided to use this 2004 Mach 1 Mustang as the front picture, I love the orange paint job with the sweet shaker hood. The week long celebration started on July 21s at Planet Hollywood and ended with a very large Mustang and SVT cruise at Colonial Mall. It really must of been amazing to see all these different Mustangs in one area. I wish I could of made it out this year, but I was stuck working like usual and my 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra just sitting in the garage. I’m still happy though, I ended up making it to the 2009 Woodward Dream Cruise this year and there was plenty of cool Mustangs to see. It would of been nice though to have been at Mustang Week, I guess there’s always next year. For the time being I supplied us Mustang fans with a variety of Mustang pictures at the bottom, just click on the pictures to enlarge them. If you find a Mustang you really like, just right click the picture and use the “save image as” button. You can even use one of these Mustang pictures as your desktop background on your computer if you’d like. It’s a great way to dress up your computer.

November 24, 2009 by Justin

This is offly interesting, the Woodstock of gaming QuakeCon is giving away a 2010 Shelby GT500 Mustang. This is pretty cool, I know throughout all the gamers and nerds, there’s a decent share of gear heads in there. To apply for thie give away, you must attend the QuakeCon event for various tasks including performances in the QuakeCon Pro, Open and Quick Draw tournaments, participation in other QuakeCon contests, events and random drawings. A total of only 100 tickets will be given away to the participants. One winner will be randomly selected on August 15th at 9p.m. central standard time on the QuakeCon Main Stage. Could you be that nerd? Attend to find out, QuakeCon runs from August 13-16 and will be held at Gaylord Texas Resort in Grapevine, Texas. Even if you don’t win the Mustang, I’m sure it will be a good time.

Prudhomme Shelby GT500 at Las Vegas Barrett-Jackson

November 24, 2009 by Justin

Out of all the Ford Mustangs I have posted on my blog, the 2007 Shelby Prudhomme Edition Concept has to be the ugliest. I know it’s just a concept and all, but couldn’t Shelby have done better? The Mustang is absolutely hideous. I have to say I do like the custom shaker hood, it sucks air cold air from up top and brings it down to the Kenne Bell supercharger, then to the 5.4 modular V8 motor which produces 800 horsepower. It sure is a beast though! If you’re interested in purchasing this concept Mustang, it’s up for grabs at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas with no reserve. If you like gaudy cars this Mustang is for you! You actually might be able to get this Mustang for a reasonable price, because to be honest with you, I don’t think there’s going to be that many bidders. But, I could be wrong.

Recall on the 2010 Roush Mustang 427R

November 24, 2009 by Justin

There has already been a recall on the 2010 Roush Mustang 427R, the issue has to do with the sport brake kit option. Supposedly there are loose bolts which could result in a “loss of stopping performance” according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It’s due to the lack of proper torque when the kit was installed. Jack Roush and his posse were made aware of the issue back in July, Roush will notify customers whose Mustangs are affected with this brake issue. Ford dealers will be able to fix this problem immediately when you bring your Roush Mustang in for service. They do the fix removing and replacing the front and rear caliper anchor plate mounting bolts.

More Photos of the Lee Iacocca Mustang

November 23, 2009 by Justin

I couldn’t help myself, I just had to post more pictures of the 45th anniversary Lee Iacocca Mustang. The Mustang is truly a masterpiece, I’ve never seen anything like it. Everything is perfect, the overall shape, wheels, interior, exhaust, hood, and grille. It’s everything you could ever ask for a muscle car or Mustang. It’s sad that I’ll never get to drive or own one, but at least I can dream about the Mustang. So eat your heart out Mustang fans!

Lee Iacocca Mustang Commercial

November 23, 2009 by Justin

The Lee Iacocca is one of my favorite Mustangs to date, I’m glad to see a commercial for the cool Mustang. When you start watching the commercial, right away you’ll recognize the tune by Frank Sinatra, it’s “Fly Me to the Moon.” The song is a perfect fit for the Mustang, both the song and Iacocca Mustang are smooth as ice. Throughout the video you’ll see the Iacocca Mustang tearing it up through the streets of LA with Sam Hubinette behind the wheel. It’s definitely a cool Mustang video!
