Happy Mustang Thanksgiving

To all the Mustang fans out there I would like to wish you a happy Mustang Thanksgiving. The two go together like peas and carrots, well not actually. It’s so cold over here in Michigan that I’m worried about a snow storm, so my 2004 SVT Cobra Mustang is already tucked away for the season. It really sucks because I want to bring the Mustang out, but with all the salt they throw on the ground these days I don’t want to risk it. Last think I want is a rusty Stang!

I thought it would be great to throw together a sweet collection of 2010 Ford Mustang pictures, so here they are. These Mustang pictures were found all over the web, some might be taken by Mustang fans and some might be taken by Ford’s actual professional photography team. The main one you see at the bottom is my favorite out of the bunch, it’s a picture of a blue Ford Mustang. I hope you enjoy the pictures of the 2010 Ford Mustang, the muscle car is a legend!

We got some outstanding pictures of the Saleen S281 Mustang from the SEMA show. My favorite part of the car is the custom square tipped exhaust pipes in back. Of course the custom hood scoop is front is just as stunning, I can’t wait to see this awesome Mustang out on the road. Maybe I’ll see one this summer out on Woodward.

Mustang Depot’s 2010 Rebellion Mustang

November 25, 2009 by Justin

The Rebellion Mustang at the SEMA show got a lot of recognition from Mustang fans. The custom Mustang was put together by Mustang Depot, the striking flame job you see on the car was painted by Joel Stevenson at Ten Ten Custom Paint. The detail and quality of the car was just phenomenal, something you would only see out of a comic book. The body package is from Street Scene and the spoiler you might recognize is from Roush, the hood is the new “Venom” model by Trufiber. Lets not forget about the custom carbon fiber mirror covers by APR, the sure look sweet. Performance wise the engine is carrying a Paxton supercharger, along with JBA headers, BBK throttle body and a full suite of billet goodies from Scott Drake. This is an Mustang that someone could die for, I hope you enjoyed the pictures.

The new Special Vehicle Team Owners Association has adopted a new logo for the Michigan-based performance car club. The logo looks quite similar to the SVT brand, but slightly different. “By adopting such recognizable elements in our new club logo, we’re demonstrating exactly what differentiates the SVTOA from all the other clubs out there, and that is our unique ties to former staffers and engineers of the Ford Special Vehicle Team.” Coming right from the horses mouth, Marcie Cipriani SVTOA Business Director.

ROUSH Air and Oil Filters for your Mustang

Roush has just come out with their own brand of air and oil filters, headlamps and motor oil. I’m wondering if Roush is trying to makeup for loss in Mustang sales, either way it’s a good idea to expand your business. Roush’s new motor oil comes in six blends which are available for all brands of cars and trucks, new or classic. Of the six blends five of them are fully synthetic oil while the sixth is conventional SAE 40W break-in Oil. The five fully synthetic oils come in 5W-20, 5W-30, 5W-50, 10W-30, and 10W-40.

1989 JBA Dominator GTA Mustang

This is sure one historical Mustang. JBA put together this Mustang for a Road & Track back in 1989. Unlike other Foxbody Mustangs this muscle car features modified fenders, hood, front end, rear valence and deck lid. As you might notice in the pictures, the whole body style looks different. Under the hood is a 5.0L HO EFI V-8 Engine and the 5-Speed Manual O/D Transmission. Just the other week it was listed on Ebay for $34,500, I’m not sure if it sold, but I bet it did. It sure is one cool looking Mustang, I have to say I love the custom rims on the muscle car.

2010 Ford Mustang in Need for Speed SHIFT Video Game

So what can you expect from Need for Speed Shift? Authentic racing and realism, EA sports have put everything they could into the game. It’s so good Team Xbox has given it a 9 out of 10 rating on their website. Need for speed captures the authentic love for racing, built upon a foundation of real physics and deeply researched car statistics. For instance when you crash into a wall, your cars front end will be dented along with your driver having blurred vision. Simple features like that which have been missing in other racing video games.

I gave the demo a try not too long ago, I really liked the game. The handling was great and the graphics were top notch. I still don’t think these game makers have the physic down pact yet, but they sure are close. I wish they would work on the brakes, when you’re going 100mph and you hit the brakes, the car doesn’t brake hard enough, so it’s harder to make that turn. Just like the rest of the games you have to brake at a certain point or you will end up into the wall.

I found some screen shots on what the 2010 Ford Mustang looks in the game, I have to say it looks stunning. These pictures I captured aren’t in HD, but they give you a feel how the muscle car looks in the game. In an official trailer of the game, four different games got to try out the 2010 Ford Mustang in the game, then afterwards they got to try it out the Mustang in real life. It’s a really cool trailer, for more info watch the youtube video down below.

It’s definitely a must get if you have a Xbox 360 or PS3 console, you’ll love taking your suped up Mustang around the track at high speeds in Need for Speed SHIFT. Something a lot of us can’t do in real life!

Classic Mustang at African Rally Race

November 24, 2009 by Justin

What a rare site to see in East Africa’s rally race last Sunday, a 1968 Mustang flying across the wilds of Kenya and Tanzania. The driver Ian Duncan is a former Safari Rally winner and multiple Kenya National Rally champion. The classic 1968 Mustang he used in this years African race is powered by a 400 horsepower 302 V8, backed up by a 4 speed manual transmission. Other mods include a beefed up suspension and skid plates. This race is termed the “World Greatest Classic Car Rally,” it sounds pretty exciting. Even Duncan remarked on how much he loved this years race.

It truly is a unique race because you’ll see all types of wild animals on the sideline, the drivers have to actually watch out for monster elephants crossing the road. Could you imagine slamming your Mustang into one of those beasts, your Ford Mustang would be totaled. The other cars that made it to this rally were a Datsun 260 Z, Peugeot 504 Coupe, Porsche 911, and a Porsche 911. Porsche 911, I didn’t know Porsche’s ever raced in rallys, that’s pretty crazy. Truthfully I guess any car could be setup for rallying. With the compact size of a Porsche sports car, I guess it would make a dynamite rally car. I posted some pictures down below from the African Rally Race, I like the one where the mud and dirt is flying in the air, that looks spectacular.

New SMS 296 Supercharger

November 24, 2009 by Justin

Just the other day at the SEMA show Steve Saleen got to show off his new SMS 296 supercharger. Just from a glance at the engine bay I have to say it’s a very clean setup. Don’t be fooled by the simplicity though, this is no normal supercharger. The 296 supercharger is very high tech in regards to its intake and intercooling, in fact there are patents pending on the new dual intake design. The supercharger will boost your horsepower by 45%, it comes standard on the 475 to 650 horsepower 2010 SMS 460 Mustang. I’m sure Steve Saleen wowed Mustang fans when the walked by the SMS Mustang GT display, I was sure impressed. This could make a lovely Christmas present for any gear head, but you better have deep pockets because knowing Steve Saleen, this supercharger isn’t going to be cheap.
