Laser Ignition System to replace Spark Plugs for Ford Mustang

December 4, 2009 by Justin

Well after 170 years of using spark plugs, it looks like Ford will finally be retiring the spark plug. What will replace it? Lasers! Yes, you’ve heard right! It’s pretty incredible, lasers can produce multiple ignition points within the combustion chamber, as opposed to the spark plug’s single ignition point. So when winter comes, your Mustang will immediately startup. We’re still not sure when Ford will be equipping Mustangs with lasers, but it’s definitely something to look forward to! I’m wondering if current Mustang owners will be able to modify their engines to be equipped with this new type of technology. I know I would really like to since I live in Michigan, our winters and be pretty terrible.

BBK Mass Air Cold Induction Kit for 07-09 Mustang

December 4, 2009 by Justin

If you’re looking to pick up an extra 50 horsepower for your new Mustang, you should pick up the new BBK Mass Air Cold Induction Kit. The kit bolts right on to your engine in a matter of minutes. Not only will this increase your horsepower but it will also increase your gas mileage. Why you might ask, well because you’re helping your Mustang breathe better. Add a cat back exhaust system with this kit and you could see some good results at the track.

Battle of the Brands

December 4, 2009 by Justin

Brothers Performance is hosting a huge cars show in Deland Florida, the name of the car show is “Battle of the Brands.” This is the second time they will be hosting the car show, the event will be hosted at their new 64,000 square foot facility Saturday, December 12th from 10am until 4pm. Just like last year, there will be a ton of custom Ford Mustangs that show up. If you put two and two together, this isn’t a normal car show. There will be a dyno shootout, hence the name “Battle of the Brands.” So if you have a suped up Mustang, you might want to attend this event, you might win a trophy.

Roush Performance Parts for your Mustang

December 4, 2009 by Justin

I stumbled across Jack Roush’s site the other day, I was amazed to see all the performance parts they have for the Ford Mustang an many other vehicles. It’s so cool now you can supe up cars such as the Ford Fusion, Focus and the MKZ with Roush parts. They also have high performance parts for the Ford F-150 truck, that’s if you don’t like driving a sports car. It’s truly remarkable to see Roush this advanced, the company has come a long way. I remember when you had to call the company to buy parts from them, now you can order parts directly from their website. They will quickly be shipped right to your house to customize your Mustang. I give props to Jack Roush for all the work he has put into his company, I definitely think he succeeded!

My Favorite Color on the 2010 Ford Mustang

December 4, 2009 by Justin

Today I was so bored I was playing around with the colors of the 2010 Mustang on Ford’s website. There are a lot of colors to choose from and Ford gives you a view what your Mustang could look like if you bought one. Here’s the list of the current colors: kona blue, grabber blue, torch red, sunset gold, performance white, red candy, black, brilliant silver, and sterling gray. The list is pretty long, out of all them I think the sterling gray looks the best. Personally I like calling it gun metal gray, it sounds cooler. If you want your can check out Fords site at Ford.com and choose your own favorite Mustang color for yourself. I hope to see one of these sweet gun metal gray Mustangs out on Woodward this summer.

Galpin Autos Widebody Mustang

December 4, 2009 by Justin

This is the wide body stance I’ve been looking for a long time. Galpin Autos put together this amazing Mustang, it was first scene at the 2009 SEMA show and boy did it get astonishing looks from Mustang fans. The wide body kit was crafted by Galpin Autos, not sure if this will be available for retail. Under the hood is a 550 horsepower Ford Racing motor, enough power for ya? The unique wheels you see on the Mustang are 20-inch Forgiato wheels. The Mustang was so popular among gear heads that AutoWeek named it one of the eight rides they would drive home from the SEMA show. Other modifications include kick ass JL Audio speakers, Wilwood brakes, and high performance Nitto tires so the beast hooks up. The Mustang will be on display at GAS’ booth at the L.A. Auto Show in Kentia Hall, along with a dozen other Galpin Autos creations.

Miller Motorsports Purchased the last of the FR500S Ford Mustangs

December 1, 2009 by Justin

Miller Motorsports has purchased the last of the FR500S Ford Mustangs. The whole intention is to add some of these Mustangs to their Miller Performance Training program. Another one will be added to the museum for show.

Miller goes on to say, “Securing the remaining examples of the FR500S allows us to not only create the opportunity for students to experience the car in a learning environment, but it also ensures that new drivers who are interested in joining the series will have that opportunity as well. We are also going to be adding one example to the museum at the track for our visitors to get a little bit longer look at the car than you might at the track. We are of course very much looking forward to seeing a whole field of FR500Ss race again when the Mustang Challenge season finale is here on the home track in September.”

Evolution Performance has manufactured a custom roll cage for S197 Mustang owners. This is no ordinary roll cage, it’s a 6-point bolt on roll cage for easy installation and is available for powder coating. And if you want, you can also get it chrome for more appeal for car shows and such. The 6-point roll cage conforms to NHRA and NMRA rule book. Makes a great modification for your S197 Ford Mustang if you are a serious drag racer.
