Edmunds Named Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Most Wanted Car of 2010

December 16, 2009 by Justin

According to Edmunds own Inside Line sector, everybody wants to get their hands on a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The GT500 was such a favorite it was named this year’s “Instant Classic.” A lot of car enthusiasts just love the muscle car power and retro style curves. A lot of old timers claim the car brings back good memories for them. It’s truly a truly remarkable muscle car!

2003-04 Ford SVT Mustang Cobra “Terminator”

December 15, 2009 by Justin

Where should I start, what a muscle car. This is by far my favorite Mustang to date. Why you might ask? Well just about everything on the car is solid, first I would like to say it’s one sweet looking Mustang. I love the hood, the custom spoiler, and the whole front end. Then there’s the power this beast can pump out. It’s not nicknamed the Terminator for nothing. Just slap on a new pulley, exhaust, intake and you’re easily making over 500 horsepower. Stock the SVT Mustang Cobra can go 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds. 1/4 wise, Ford rates it as 12.6 seconds, just imagine what it can do after a few mods. This Mustang has become a popular car in the racing world since it’s the best bang for your buck. I ended up buying a brand new Cobra with only 400 miles on it 2 years ago, the Mustang has a lot of sentimental value to me. I feel it may be worth a lot of money one day. If you have a 2003 or 2004 Mustang Cobra I really suggest holding on to it.

Steeda Cold Air Intake for Ford Mustang

December 15, 2009 by Justin

Improve both performance and gas mileage with a cold air intake from Steeda. Testing has shown an increase of 38 horsepower and 30 foot pounds of torque to the rear wheels. Steeda’s lifetime filter also can be cleaned and re-oiled for a long time use. The cold air intake is constructed out of stainless steel and mounts directly in the factory location with ease. Chris Johnson, president of SCT Tuning, suggests this kit has the highest horsepower and torque rating on the market.

Steeda Sport Springs for your Ford Mustang

December 15, 2009 by Justin

Improve handling and ride quality with a good set of sport springs from Steeda. Steeda carries sport springs for Mustang years 1979-2010. A good set of springs are the foundation of good handling and ride quality. Steeda has experience and expertise in high performance street and racing suspension systems.

Roush Performance Brakes

December 15, 2009 by Justin

Roush Performance really makes a nice brake kit for the 2005-2010 Ford Mustang. The high performance brake kit decreases stopping distance, improves brake modulation, and better management of brake heat. Unlike the stock two piston calipers, these calipers come four-piston equipped. The brake kit also comes with braided brake lines, front brake pads, and a 14″ 2-piece slotted zinc washed front rotors. Before buying these brakes make sure your wheels have proper caliper clearance. I suggest giving Roush a call about the clearance issue before buying these brakes 1-800-59-ROUSH.

Closer look at the 2011 Mustang V6 Engine

December 14, 2009 by Justin

I came across more pictures of the V6 engine from the 2011 Ford Mustang, thus I decided to post them on my blog. Overall it’s a cleaner looking engine bay compared to the previous years. The 2011 Mustang V6 engine is now pushing 305 horsepower to the rear wheels, while providing an economic 30mpg when you’re driving around town.

Shelby GT500 Mustang races a Nissan GT-R

December 14, 2009 by Justin

Motor Trend goes all out with a drag test between a 2010 Shelby GT500 and a Nissan GT-R. To end things short, Nissan GT-R wins the race. Nicknamed Godzilla, the Nissan GT-R is an all-wheel drive sports car with 474 horsepower. While the Mustang is a rear wheel drive muscle car with 630 horsepower. If you do the math, the Mustang is running 156 more horsepower. Many Mustang fans think the GT500 should of won the race and they think there’s a conspiracy behind the drag race. If you take a look at the video, both cars come of the line exactly the same time. There’s really no reason why the Nissan GT-R should of pulled away, unless whoever’s in the Mustang is feathering the gas pedal. I would of liked to see more than one race that’s for sure!

In this video ARS promotions interviews the godfater of the Shelby Super Snake Mustang. Throughout the video Don talks about how he started with Carroll Shelby back in 1964. He goes into detail why Shelby hired him, it’s a great video to learn the history about the Shelby Mustang.
