1000 Horsepower 2006 Mustang GT on Ebay
December 17, 2009 by Justin
It’s not every day you see a 1000hp powered Ford Mustang on Ebay, that is why this auction caught my eye. This 2006 yellow Mustang GT is a one of a kind sports car, it was a built for the sole purpose of beating GM’s new super car the ZR1 Corvette. The custom Mustang accomplished this with flying colors. Under the hood of the Mustang is get this, a GM 427 cubic inch V8 block. Kind of ironic a Mustang beats a GM car with a GM engine. Do you think the new owner will still have bragging rights? I would still give it to him, because a lot of work has been put into this Ford Mustang. To achieve the 1000 horsepower range, the current owner powered up the 427cid engine with a Pro-Charger V-1 centrifugal blower. What a muscle car!

Roush Mustang Hat
December 16, 2009 by Justin
I came across this sweet Roush Mustang hat while browsing Jack Roush’s site. What I like about it is the the gray and white flame job and clean looking ROUSH logo. It’s a hat that would go really nice with my black 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra. The hat already comes pre-curved and buckle strap in back for an easy adjustable fit, anyone can wear this Mustang hat.

Shelby Automobiles now called Shelby American
December 16, 2009 by Justin
Shelby Automobiles has just made a big move, they have just renamed their company back to their original name Shelby American. Many Mustang fans have longed for this. It symobilizes on American history and basically the American name. Personally I’m all for it, especially in this times where outsourcing has become popular and we’re very close to a depression. I give props to Carroll Shelby for making this bold move!

2011 Mustang V6 with Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing
December 16, 2009 by Justin
Twin independent variable camshaft timing is being introduced the 2011 Ford Mustang V6 engine. The benefits you’ll see with the Ti-VCT is the extremely precise variable control of “valve overlap,” or the window of time in which both the intake and exhaust valves in the engine are open simultaneously. According to Ford manager of V-6 powertrain operations, Jim Mazuchowski, the overlap control via Ti-VCT will help us eliminate compromises in the induction and exhaust systems. Overall you’ll notice improved low-speed torque, increased fuel economy and peak horsepower, something Mustang dragsters have been longing for. There will also be lower emissions with better control of NOx and HC throughout the range of engine operating speeds. In Layman’s terms, it helps reduce atmospheric pollution. This is pretty impressive tehcnology coming from Ford, keep it up!

Classic Recreations has just released the specs of their Shelby GT500CR Mustang. The muscle car is a continuation of the 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, better known as Eleanor from the movie Gone in 60 Seconds. The news was announced opening day at the 2009 SEMA show. Classic Recreations will be creating three different models, all three will feature a hand built 427 cubic inch 7.0L engine. Every GT500 wil also have an official Shelby serial number, badges and will be inducted in the official Shelby Worldwide Registry. The “Intro” model is powered by a 545hp fuel injected 427. The “Performance” model features all the parts of the “Intro” and has Carroll Shelby Scat Rally series 1000 seats, larger 17×9.5 rear wheels and a Total Control front and rear coilover suspension system for modern sports car handling. The “Venom” model boosts the horsepower up to 780hp and uses a F1-R Intercooled ProCharger supercharged engine. The interior is upgraded with a 200mph speedometer and racing-style bucket seats. The “Venom” also boasts suspension and chassis upgrades as well as 17×11″ rear wheels and wider ultra high performance Goodyear tires. It’s great to see Classic Recreations bringing back a legend.
