What Mustang Forums do you Visit?
December 24, 2009 by Justin
With there being so many Mustang forums to visit these days, which ones have you narrowed down to visit? One in particular I like to visit is SVT Performance, the Mustang forum has great members on it and there’s a ton of topics to talk about. Another great forum is All Ford Mustangs, I actually got to talk to the owner a few years ago. He tried to bring me on as a moderator of the forum but I was so busy that I didn’t have time, I wish I hadn’t turned him down, it has become one of the largest Mustang communities on the internet. Then there’s Stang Net forums, they are filled with a ton of tech information on Mustang aftermarket parts. If you have any tech questions, I suggest checking these Mustang forums out first, there’s a lot of Mustang owners on there that can help you out. To make things easier, I posted down below a quick ranking of the forum sites.

CGS Flatback 2010 Mustang
December 24, 2009 by Justin
CGS Motorsports has customized their own 2010 Ford Mustang naming it the FlatBack Mustang. You kind of almost end up calling it FlatBlack Mustang because of the paint color. CGS made this car for the 2009 SEMA show, the FlatBack Mustang features a custom matte grey metallic paint by BASF, gloss black graphics, 22-inch one-off Colorado custom wheels with Pirelli Tires, Recaro seats, KW coil over suspension, Roush body kit, Baer brakes and a twin-screw Whipple supercharger. To top things off I posted a concept illustration of what the custom Mustang looks like, it sure looks sick!

Rare Video footage of Mustang Movie Bullitt
December 24, 2009 by Justin
Doing a little browsing on YouTube and I came across this rare behind the scenes footage of the movie Bullitt. This was one of the most influential Mustang movies of all time. The chase scene with the 968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum and the 1968 Ford Mustang GT390 was magnificent, the phrase “they don’t make them like they used to” comes to mind every time I see the chase scene. Nowadays Hollywood directors are dubbing in sound and special effects to make the car scenes more interesting. I personally like car scenes when they are all natural, I just hate too much computer generated stuff.
1993 SVT Cobra R Mustang
December 24, 2009 by Justin
There sure are a lot neat special edition Ford Mustangs out there, one you should try to keep in mind is the first Cobra Mustang ever produced. Which indeed is the 1993 Cobra R Mustang, only 107 of these “R” Mustangs were ever built, making this super stang very rare. This unique Mustang was made strictly for racing, hence the “R” name, really nothing about the Mustang was weak. To start it off, this Mustang produced 235 horsepower and 285 foot pounds of torque, for back in 1993 this was pretty impressive. To achieve this horsepower rating Ford implemented big-port GT40 heads, tuned-runner intake manifold, and a revised cam. Other improvements on the Cobra R model included larger front brakes, competition-caliber cooling system and suspension tuning, appropriately wider wheels and tires, and added structural reinforcements. This Mustang would truly make any car collector happy to have this muscle car in their garage.
Lots of 2010 Mustangs out on the Road
December 24, 2009 by Justin
Even thought it’s Christmas and a there’s a ton of snow on the ground, I’ve been spotting 2010 Ford Mustang everywhere. This includes both Mustang GTs and V6 Mustangs, which is spectacular to see. I prefer seeing and hearing V8 Mustangs on the road, but I don’t mind seeing the V6 Stangs. Not everyone can afford a V8 these days, especially because of the high price of insurance these days. You know I bet someone’s going to receive a Mustang as a present this Christmas, that sure would make a sweet gift for someone.

Model of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT500 “Eleanor”
December 23, 2009 by Justin
Doing some Mustang research on the web when I came across this sweet model of a 2010 Ford Mustang GT500, aka Eleanor. This is not an actual Mustang “wish it was,” it’s a 3D model someone developed on the computer. It’s definitely pretty amazing, every little detail on the GT500 looks like the original. I love the rims, I like how they are pushed in a little bit, kind of resembling a staggered wheel. The rear lights look sweet along with the hood and grille in the front. Now this would be a sweet Mustang to own!
Polish your Mustang Wheels with Autosol
December 23, 2009 by Justin
If you have a nice set of forged aluminum wheels from lets say CCW or HRE, you might want to try using the metal polish Autosol. It really is the best polish out there for bare aluminum wheels. It removes any kind of oxidizing, rust, or grime from the road. It will also leave an impeccable shine right on the rim. Plus it also leaves a nice coat so when stuff gets on the wheel afterwards, you should be able to wipe it away with just a rag. I’ve been using the polish for many years now and it hasn’t let me down. But, make sure your rims aren’t clear coated and they aren’t chrome plated. This stuff can tear up chrome and it won’t make a difference if you put it on a clear coat finish, since you’re not touching the metal. How I use it is after I’m done washing my car, I squeeze a little polish out on a rag microfiber, then start rubbing it across the entire wheel. After you’re done rubbing it in, you should then go across it with a clean microfiber towel. You’re wheels should be left with a nice mirror finish. Something like the Mustang wheels pictures I posted down below. This just shows you how good shiny wheels can look on a Mustang, you’d don’t even need chrome to look good.

2003 SVT Cobra Mustang Stolen on Christmas
December 23, 2009 by Justin
I’m on a lot of Mustang forums these days, trying to keep up with my friends and Mustang news. I came across a post on SVT Performance the other day. A soldier was home on leave visiting his parents in South Carolina, when he got a call just he other night by the police saying his 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra was stolen out of his garage in Clarksville, Tennesse. If you now anything about this, please contact the Clarksville police as soon as possible. On top of the Mustang having low miles and a sweet Whipple supercharger, the thieves also stole his Plasma TV, PS3 and his Xbox 360. This is some really sad news for this Mustang owner, I know I would be fumed. I just hope this person can overcome this horrible obstacle and not suffer anything else on Christmas, I’ll be praying for him and his stolen Mustang.
This is not the owners car, but I thought I’d post a picture what a 2003 SVT Cobra Mustang looks like.

1966 Shelby Hertz GT350H Mustang
December 23, 2009 by Justin
If you like smooth and sleek features of a muscle car, well you’re probably love the 1966 GT350H. Even though this car was made more than 40 years ago, I thought it would be great to go back in time and talk about it. Hertz produced this Mustang with Ford to “wow” car enthusiasts all over the world. Only 1,001 of these custom Mustang were produced, making them very limited and valuable. This Mustang has an output of 306 horsepower and 329 foot pounds of torque. It’s not a whole lot for today, but for back then that was a lot of horsepower for a Ford Mustang. Back then the muscle car was probably worth $3k, nowadays the sky is the limit. I could easily see one of these Mustangs going for $100k. The 1966 Shelby Hertz GT350H Mustang has gone down in muscle car history as one of the coolest and most valuable muscle cars to have. I bet Jay Leno has one of these baby’s sitting in his garage.

Motor Trend: Super Snake Mustang takes on other Muscle
December 23, 2009 by Justin
I just got this month’s issue of Motor Trend, it involves the big three muscle cars duking it out on the track. The Shelby GT500 Super Snake Mustang will be racing the Hennessey Camaro HPE650 and the Speedfactory Chellnger SRT8. This looks like an exciting race, the Mustang has more horsepower out of the other two, but that doesn’t mean it will outdo the other two muscle cars. See who wins by watching the Mustang video down below!
