Press Release for the 2011 Mustang GT
December 28, 2009 by Justin
Ford has just officially announced the press release of the 2011 Ford Mustang GT. This is exciting news for all Mustang fans all over the world. Why you might ask? Because the 5.0 liter V8 will be returning for 2011. It will be an all aluminum engine making 412 horsepower and 390 torque. To achieve the increase of horsepower Ford used 32-valves and Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT). The 5.0 will be able to get 25mph on the highway, not bad for a 400 horsepower V8 engine. Other features on the 2011 Mustang GT are new six-speed automatic and manual transmissions, specially tuned Electric Power Assist Steering (EPAS), 11.5-inch front and 11.8-inch rear vented disc brakes, three new colors (Yellow Blaze Tri-Coat, Race Red and Ingot Silver) and a Brembo brake package upgrade that includes 14-inch vented front discs from the GT500, 19-inch alloy wheels and summer performance tires. Can’t wait to see this baby out on the street!

Livernois Motorsports for modifying your Mustang
December 27, 2009 by Justin
If you live in the Metro Detroit area or even in the southeastern region of Michigan, might I suggest going to Livernois Motorsports to help modify your Mustang. They’ve been around for quite sometime now and know quite a bit about modifying Ford Mustangs. I took my 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra there and they added a BBK exhaust system to my Mustang. The installation was smooth and the price wasn’t bad, it just feels good knowing your Mustang will be worked on by professionals. If you don’t own a Ford Mustang, no problem, they also work on other makes of muscle cars. This includes muscle cars from GM and Mopar! Visit their site or shop in person to find out more information about them!

2010 Ford Mustang Replica Wheels
December 27, 2009 by Justin
NewTakeOff.com is offering replica wheels from the 2010 Ford Mustang. These are 18 inch silver wheels featuring a 5 spoke design just like the 2010 Ford Mustang. If you’re looking a for a wheel tire package deal, they have the wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires for $999.99. That’s not bad when the tires alone will run you $556. So if you bought the tires and wheels separately, the price would be well over $999.99, not to mention mounting and balancing. I would loved to get these wheels triple chrome plated also, that would look really nice on a 2010 Ford Mustang.

CDC Smokes the tires on a 2010 Ford Mustang GT
December 27, 2009 by Justin
In this small little Mustang video from YouTube, you’ll see Classic Design Concepts smoke the tires on a 2010 Ford Mustang GT. To help melt the tires even more CDC modified the Mustang with a ProCharger supercharger. Other mods you might notice are a chin spoiler, shaker air-induction system, light bar and windscreen. This Mustang in the video is pumping out 438 horsepower to the rear wheels.

Livernois Motorsports is claiming to be the first company to put the 2010 Mustang in the 10s. The team at Livernois worked their magic on making the 2010 Ford Mustang pump out 500 horsepower to the rear wheels, making their custom 2010 Ford Mustang run 10,888 @ 125mph in the 1/4 mile. To accomplish this Livernois slapped on a Whipple supercharger, Livernois Motorsports Stage 3 CNC Cylinder Heads, and Ford Racing Hot Rod Camshafts. As you can see by the video, Livernois wasn’t messing around.
Reed Speed SSE Ford Mustang
December 27, 2009 by Justin
Randall Reed of Planet Ford Dealership in Houston, Texas plans on developing their own custom Mustang. Ford a dealership made Mustang I’m very impressed. Randall Reed has named the Mustang the “Reed Speed SSE.” The highlight of the Mustang is the 700 horsepower the Mustang will be pumping out. Other goodies found on this custom Mustang include 14-inch rotors, six piston caliper brakes, custom wide body kit, and 20 inch iForged wheels. All this makes for one hell of a Ford Mustang. It will also have a two-tone unique paint job, sporting blue and black colors. Not sure of the price tag yet.

Goodguys Rod and Custom association will be giving away a 1970 Boss Snake Mustang as their 2010 Grand Prize. This super car will be built and assembled at Max-G Systems in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania. Under the hood of the car will be a Jon Kaase built 429 Ford Hemi motor, it’s not said how many horses this Mustang will be producing but I can expect it will be a big number. Other cool mods on the custom Mustang are a complete Max-G suspension system, custom one-off Intro wheels and Boss Snake Graphics. Man, I just hope I’m the winner!

Steve Saleen to Honor Saleen Warranties
December 26, 2009 by Justin
This is kind of old news, but since it was such good news for Saleen Mustang owners I thought I’d post it on my blog. You might of heard that after Steve Saleen left the company in 2007, MJ Acquisitions took control of the automotive conglomerate, shortly after then announced they would dissolve all the warranties Saleen prior to February 2, 2009. Steve Saleen heard about the disappointing news so he stood up to the plate and honored all Saleen warranties. This is pretty shocking news for me, since this will cost Steve Saleen’s new company SMS a lot of money. I have to say I’m very impressed with Steve Saleen, he’s definitely shown his true colors, what a great guy!

Shelby Brake Cooling Kit for GT500 Mustang
December 26, 2009 by Justin
If you’re looking to cool your brakes down more on your Shelby GT500 Mustang, you should look into buying this brake cooling kit from Shelby. The kit comes with a pair of of high-temperature composite-plastic-injected backing plates and heat-resistant silicone-coated fiberglass ducting hoses. The kit will be channeling air through the center of the rotor and not the rotor face like the competitors. This will give tremendous cooling powers for your brakes. Something like this is great for a full blown racing Mustang, but on the other hand if you have a street driven Mustang, I wouldn’t bother buying the kit. That’s just my suggestion!
